"Food should be interesting to the palate as well as the eye. My avid interest in cooking is influenced by my background in landscape design and horticulture; I enjoy presenting menu options that are comforting, yet with a twist just to keep it interesting. I am involved in numerous community groups, and find I'm always being asked to coordinate the food for fundraisers and parties. Recognizing my passion for cooking could be a career, I completed the culinary program at Austin Community College with honors. I have also successfully completed the SafeServe Food Management Program offered by the National Restaurant Association. "
